Soundtrack Sundays: The Adventure Begins (King's Quest: A Knight to Remember)

It's Soundtrack Sunday again! The day where I post awesome music to write to or just listen to for pleasure if you're a fellow soundtrack junkie. As I've mentioned in a previous Soundtrack Sunday, I'm a longstanding King's Quest (PC games beginning in the 1980s) fan. After ten years of no new games, Sierra Entertainment released a new installment to the saga. I purchased it the day it came out and I very much enjoyed it. The graphics and voice acting are stunning as well as the enchanting score.

This score keeps many notes from the old games such as the original theme, but now that technology allows a full score with instruments can be implemented (some of the old games had to use sounds from the computer workings they were so old). This piece is a whimsical with an air of mystery. It perfectly reflects the fantasy vibe of the games with light piano, strings, flute, and horns. This fits a happy scene for a fantasy story. You can listen to more epic music in my Soundtrack Sundays YouTube playlist and check out my review of the game over on Geeks Under Grace!

Have you heard this piece before? What do you think of it? Have you played King's Quest: A Knight to Remember?
