Wonderful Word Wednesdays: Volitant

It's Wonderful Word Wednesday again! Do you as a writer ever struggle finding that perfect word to describe something or you want to shake your writing up with some new words? Each Wednesday I post hand-picked descriptive words for writers and other vocabulary nerds out there. ;)

1.) engaged in or having the power of flight.
2. active; moving.

Example Sentence: Zburators are similar to werewolves, but unlike their grounded counterparts, they are volitant.
I don't own this image, but this is the one that
inspired me to include zburators in my books
and this guy's art is amazing. All the credit to him.

Have you seen or used this word before? What do you think of it?

If you liked this post, come back every Saturday for more writing advice, character interviews, book reviews and more! On Sundays I have Soundtrack Sundays where I post a new score piece, Tuesdays are Tea Tuesdays with tea reviews, Wednesdays I have Wonderful Word Wednesdays where I post a new vocabulary word, and Fridays are Fan Fridays where I post tags and other goodies. To help support my dream to be an author follow this blog, like me on Facebook, watch me on deviantART, and follow me on Pinterest and Twitter. 1. I hadn't either until I got this awesome bestiary for my birthday. Plot bunnies galore!

Oh thanks so much! It's like each of my book worlds are planets it a universe that composes the Howellverse. ;) Like Whedonverse is composed of Firefly, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and Agents of SHIELD, because they are all the things Joss Whedon is involved in. :)

    Thanks so much for commenting!

  2. A bestiary? Gimme. XD (Especially if it includes dragons.)
Ahh, gotcha! That's really cool. :D

  3. They're actually bestiary/how to draw books by William O'Connor. He has a magical creatures one, dragon one, and great dragon one. They're so so cool! :D
