Wonderful Word Wednesday: Pericope

It's Wonderful Word Wednesday again and I've found a pretty cool word. ^ ^

(pronounced puh-RIK-uh-pee)
1.) a selection or extract from a book.
2.) a portion of a sacred writing read in a divine service; lesson; lection.

Example Sentence: Mor examined the ancient pericope from the Creed of the Red Hoods.

Have you seen or used this word before? What do you think of it?

  1. I've never seen this word before, but now I'll have to keep it! Seems I'm surrounded with pericopes... I simply didn't know there was a word for such things.

    1. Cool. :) I didn't either until recently. Thanks for commenting!
